woah, today pretty much ruled.
i actually got my ass outta bed at 6:30 to make it to the 7:30 jazzercise class, something i've talked about doing a lot but never actually done. i felt great when i left, and i think that set the tone for the rest of the day. came back and woke brian up and we got ready and headed to the farmer's market down in the hay market. i'm not sure why i've never made it to one of these before... it ruled. i could've wandered around there for hours. brian got a burrito because he hadn't eaten yet, and i got a kolache because they're delicious. we then got some homemade smoked hot dogs, a loaf of whole wheat bread and some tomatoes and a giant cucumber.
then we left and went to patio's house so i could borrow his roommates bike. i'm sure i came off as an idiot because they're both into bikes and know all about them and i'm pretty sure the last bike i bought was when i was like 12, but she let me borrow it anyway. after we ended up having to take the tire off to fit it in my car. brian kept telling me just to ride it home, but i wasn't confident i could actually make it home...
once we got home, we took the bike out of the car and put his in there to take to get a tune up. got helmets and a pump and i came home and took the bike out. it felt great to ride a bike again. i went from 70th to 40th and back and it took about 45 minutes. i should google a map of the mopac because i'm not even sure exactly where it goes... came back and anna was doing her laundry here and hung out awhile.
then it was time to do a little work outside. mowed and did some weeding, but it was so nice outside i didn't even sweat, bonus. then we got dressed and went to dinner at bread and cup. i read about it awhile ago in the lincoln paper and thought it sounded good but sort of forgot until brian mentioned it. it's right on the edge of the hay market close to the post office, and a short walk from brian's work, so i'm sure he'll be going there again. they had a regular menu and a special saturday night menu with items all prepared from things they bought at the farmer's market, pretty sweet. i had a goat cheese and honey appetizer with some bread. awwwwwesome. and i had a steak salad that was probably the best i've ever had. brian isn't a big steak eater and he even mentioned that it was great.
then we went to star trek. neither of us really watched the show, unless you count my dad watching it at dinner and yelling at anyone who tried to talk, but that was more next generation than the original. anyway, i thought it was awesome. it seemed like it went by really quickly and was action-packed. i would recommend it.
now i suppose i should go to bed, and hopefully i didn't bore you too much with this long entry... but today was awesome and i thought it should be documented. over and out.

we're going to nebraska city this morning, for some crazy reason i wanted to do a 5K there. brian will most likely walk it, haha. liz said she would go with me, but i just called her and got no answer...
after that we'll go home and probably nap. then we're headed to club roxbury to go see tenclub. i'm sort of excited to see a pearl jam cover band, and i've gotten to know a lot of the "new school" slammers and a lot will be there.
should be a good time.

ugh, these cats are killin' me lately.
so for the most part, i've always fed my cats purina indoor. i want to say i've switched food on them before, but i honestly can't remember. anyway, i went to get some last time they were out and i was at shopko and all they had were those tiny bags, so i said screw that and grabbed a huge bag of meow mix instead.
fast forward to the meow mix being gone, and it being time to buy more food. so i got the purina indoor cat this time and now they won't eat.
i noticed they didn't eat much (if at all) on tuesday. so i offered up some wet food (normally they would go ape shit for that) and they barely touched that, same with treats. and wednesday night i grabbed a small bag of meow mix, hoping that's what they want and they would start eating again. meh, mildly interested, probably each ate about 5-10 pieces and now they don't care again.
they're still acting normal. they both slept on the bed with me last night until i woke up sweating and had to kick them off. dinah spent every second i was on the couch on my lap (which is normal for her) and loki woke up me by bashing the blinds last night (normal for him). so i don't *think* that they're sick... but the fact that they haven't eaten much for the last 2-3 days concerns me. i even checked their litter box... there's like one poop in there and a bunch of #1's. i know they're drinking because i've seen that, but not much eating.
ugh, wonder how long i should wait before i take them to the vet. again. boo.
also, i should note that i've never had a problem with these fatties not wanting to eat. and they've always been good about using their litter box (each peed on the floor the first day we got them, and that's been IT), so i'm confused when i encounter problems like this. this shouldn't be happening to my babies. :(

on the way home from work, i was sitting at a stop light at 27th and O and the car next to me was really crankin' up the music.
and it was pomeroy.

wow. got so much done today.
vet appointment for dinah at 9, everything is doing fine and her eye is getting better.
gym for an hour, haven't worked out since tuesday... almost died.
cleaned the basement bathroom.
cleaned the unfinished room with all kinds of cat litter all over the floor.
finished up laundry that was started last night.
vacuumed the stairs (holy crap, i hate having carpeted stairs, i've almost ripped that carpet off like 400 times).
cleaned the kitchen.
went to lowe's to get yard waste bags.
took clothes to plato's closet. i would say they take about 5% of what i bring in, bitches. but i made $12 for a few things.
brought the rest to goodwill.
went to target to get misc. stuff.
returned shoes i bought awhile ago at famous footwear and don't want anymore.
finally went back home.
brian got his glasses fixed (he's been missing a nosepiece for about... a year, haha) and next door was a flower shop, so he got me some bright spring flowers. :) while i was doing all the aforementioned stuff, he was in the backyard working. we got 5 trees and 2 shrubs ripped out, and he was trying to level out the backyard so we can plant some grass.
so now we are going to sit on our asses and watch a movie and drink some wine. too tired to party.

anyone had to put new shingles on their house? the roofer we called gave us samples and the brand is called "CertainTeed". my parents came by yesterday and immediately told us that that's a crappy brand and we definitely should not go with it. after googling the name, a lot of the responses seem to be negative.
anyone know what a GOOD brand is? i'm going to call the contractor and see what else they offer, if they only have one brand, then we might have to switch contractors.

her eye looks as bad today as it did yesterday, i suppose i'll take her in. luckily it's just the one eye, and loki doesn't look like he's caught anything, so that's good.

hey cat/dog people. i'm trying to decide if this warrants a trip to the vet...
i noticed yesterday that dinah had one eye that was kind of runny. didn't look too serious, but it's still around today so i'm not sure if i should take her in, or if it's something that'll pass on its own. the pictures here actually make the redness around her eye look worse than what it looks to me.

well, it looks like we'll be getting a few trees in back removed. we have a bunch of just crappy trees (flowering crabs and other messy stuff) that are basically falling apart. two are partially on the neighbors' house, surprised they haven't complained to us.
also, we need a new roof.

this weekend pretty much ruled. went shopping with jessie and kolby friday night. we shut down the mall, and target, haha. although no one really bought much of anything, kind of disappointing.
and then saturday we picked up brian, ate lunch, and went shopping with carrie and her sister laura. again, i failed at buying stuff. but still had fun.
after waiting for what seemed like forever at kona, we finally got seated and got 5 free appetizers for our long wait. then it was off to the knocker which was.... amazing. everyone sang really fun songs and we pretty much were the life of the bar. i always have a good time at that place. i got just drunk enough that i had fun, but not too drunk that i was hung over today. i consider that a win.
